Concrete slab, pad and foundation contractors in Georgia

Concrete slab contractors for garages, workshops, sheds, carports, hot tubs and additions, and concrete foundation contractors for slab foundations (monolithic and stem-wall) on new construction, poured to the plan and ready for inspection.

How we do it

  1. 1

    Plan review and estimate

We work from your plans or measure the pad on site, confirm thickness, reinforcement and footing details, and tell you which permits and inspections the county will want.

  2. 2

    Excavation and base

The pad is excavated to grade, with thickened edges or footings dug where the slab carries a building. Compacted gravel goes down.

  3. 3

    Vapor barrier, forms and steel

A vapor barrier under enclosed slabs, forms to the plan dimensions, and the rebar or mesh the design calls for. Anchor bolts are set where a structure goes on top.

  4. 4

    Inspection and pour

Where a permit applies, the inspector sees the forms and steel before we pour. Then we place, screed and finish, flat enough for the walls or equipment going on it.

  5. 5

    Cure and hand-off

The slab cures before framing or equipment loads it. You get the as-built dimensions for your builder.

Options and finishes

  • Garage and workshop slabs

4 to 6 inches with reinforcement, sloped to the door, with control joints laid out for the space.

  • Shed and carport pads

Right-sized pads with thickened edges for the structure's posts or walls.

  • Monolithic foundations

Slab and footing poured as one for additions, garages and outbuildings.

  • Stem-wall foundations

Footings, poured or block stem walls, then the slab, for sites with slope or a crawlspace detail.

  • Equipment pads

Hot tubs, generators, HVAC and pool equipment pads sized to the unit.

  • Concrete pads: AC, generator, hot tub, shed

Small reinforced pads sized to the equipment: a level AC or heat-pump pad, a generator pad with the conduit sleeve in, a hot-tub pad that carries a full tub, a shed or trash-can pad. Often poured the same day as a larger job.

What's in our estimate

Every estimate is written, itemized and free. For concrete slabs and foundations it covers:

  • Layout to the plan, excavation and compacted base
  • Vapor barrier where specified, forms and reinforcement
  • Thickened edges or footings for slabs that carry a building
  • Pour, finish and curing; anchor bolts if a structure goes on top
  • Permit and inspection coordination for structural slabs

What moves the price

  • Square footage and thickness
  • Footings, thickened edges and the amount of steel
  • Whether the slab is structural and needs engineering, a permit and inspections
  • Excavation depth and soil conditions
  • Vapor barrier and insulation details
  • Truck access or a pump

National price ranges, with sources, are in our cost guide. Your written estimate is the real number for your site.

Working in Georgia's weather

Our summers are hot enough to change how we schedule and cure a pour, and north Georgia gets enough freezing nights in winter that we plan cold-weather protection from December to February. Every city page shows the local numbers and what we do about them. Permits differ from one city or county to the next; we tell you which apply and pull them as part of the job.

Why homeowners choose us

A written estimate you can compare

Thickness, base depth, reinforcement and finish are spelled out line by line, so you can hold any other quote against it.

One call, then a date

We call back to confirm the details, usually the same business day, and book the visit at a time that suits you. No chasing.

Insured crews, permits pulled

General liability insurance on every job, the certificate with your estimate, and we pull the permits your city or county requires.

Frequently asked questions

How much concrete does my slab need?

+

Multiply length × width × thickness in feet and divide by 27. A 4-inch slab uses about 1.23 cubic yards per 100 square feet. Our slab calculator does the math and adds waste; we confirm the quantity at the estimate.

Does a foundation need an engineer?

+

Slabs that carry a building are structural and usually need a permit, a design and inspections. We tell you what your county requires before we quote.

What does an installed slab cost?

+

Homewyse put a basic installed slab at about $10.63 to $13.00 per square foot in September 2026 on a favorable site. Footings, removal and thicker slabs add to that; our estimate is itemized so you can see what's what.

Do you pour slab foundations for new homes and additions?

+

Yes. Monolithic (slab-on-grade with turned-down edges) and stem-wall foundations, built to the engineer's plan with the footings, steel and vapor barrier it calls for, and scheduled around the county's inspections. We pour the foundation; your builder frames on it.

Do you do foundation repair?

+

We repair and replace concrete slabs, and we lift sunken slab sections (see our repair page). Structural foundation repair on an existing house (piers, underpinning) is a specialist trade; if that's what the assessment shows, we tell you so instead of selling you a pour.

Do you pour small concrete pads?

+

Yes. AC and heat-pump pads, generator pads, hot-tub pads, shed and playset pads. A pad is a small slab with the same rules: compacted base, the right thickness for the load, reinforcement and a slope that sheds water. We quote them on their own or add them to a bigger pour.

What to have ready

None of it is required to send the request. It just makes the callback shorter and the estimate more accurate.

  • The property address, so we can check the permit office and get the right crew
  • Rough dimensions: pace it out, or size it with our concrete calculator
  • What it's for: cars, a work truck, a hot tub, a shed, foot traffic
  • A couple of photos of the area and the route a concrete truck would take
  • Anything you've noticed about water: puddles, a downspout, a low corner
  • When you'd like it done
